Hybrid Performance Testing is designed for athletes who participate in, or are training towards, hybrid competition formats in which running is combined with functional strength and endurance‑focused exercises such as rowing and SKI‑ERG.
This testing protocol includes:
- Velocity‑based strength tests
- Lactate test with VO₂-max measurement
- Body composition analysis
- Detailed strength training programme
- Detailed cardio training programme

What can you expect?
We assess your maximal strength and force–velocity profile through velocity‑based testing (VBT) on:
- Squat
- Deadlift
- Bench press
Velocity-based testing is a method in which the speed at which you can move a weight during an exercise is measured. This allows us to safely determine what your maximal load (1RM) would be for each exercise. We then translate these speeds into corresponding weights so that you can train in a targeted way, whether at home or in the gym.
The endurance test consists of a progressive treadmill protocol. During the test, we measure and analyse various parameters. Heart rate and blood lactate values allow us to assess your aerobic fitness and determine your optimal training zones. After the test, a cool‑down follows and you can enjoy a refreshing shower.
During the endurance test, your VO₂‑max is measured, the maximum amount of oxygen your body can absorb and utilise during exercise. This value provides a clear picture of your endurance capacity and serves as a strong indicator of your physical abilities and athletic potential.
The lactate test with VO2 max measurement provides insight into:
- your endurance capacity
- your basic fitness level
- your different training zones
- pacing and recovery capacity during successive efforts
Your body composition is measured using the Lunar DEXA scan. This is the gold standard for determining body composition. Immediately after the scan, you receive a clear overview of:
- Body fat percentage and fat‑free mass
- Lean mass (muscle mass)
- Bone mass and bone density
- Weight and composition of each body region
This measurement helps you achieve your personal goals and provides valuable insights to approach your training, nutrition, and recovery in a more targeted way.
Before we start the strength assessments, you will go through a targeted technique screening. This screening serves as an active warm-up and ensures that you:
- can perform the strength tests safely and efficiently
- detect technical limitations in time
- receive training advice based not only on strength, but also on movement quality
Based on your strength tests, you will receive a personalised 12‑week strength programme focusing on:
- Maximal strength
- Strength endurance
- Transfer to specific strength exercises during hybrid sport events such as Hyrox
Load and intensity are tailored to your test results.
Your cardio plan is built on your lactate and VO₂‑max results and includes:
- Endurance sessions
- Interval and tempo training
- Race‑specific intensities
This ensures you always train in the correct zones, with attention to efficiency and recovery.
