What can you expect?
To ensure your effort test is safe and well-prepared, we ask you to complete a validated sports medical questionnaire beforehand. Bring the result with you on the day of your appointment. This questionnaire helps us identify possible health risks so we can ensure your safety during the test. Based on the result (green, orange or red), you will receive a recommendation on whether or not to undergo a sports medical examination before the effort test can take place.
- Green light: a sports medical examination is not necessary, your test can go ahead
- Orange light: a sports medical examination is recommended
- Red light: a sports medical examination is mandatory before the effort test can proceed, this can be done with one of the sports doctors affiliated with SKA or via Golazo Energy.
If you haven’t completed the questionnaire at the time of your test yet, you can fill it in on the spot. Please note: if you get a red light, your effort test will NOT be able to take place.
Prior to the effort test, an intake interview will take place. During this interview, we will map out your exercise background, this will include a discussion about your previous achievements, injuries, goals and available training time. This allows us to get a complete picture of your goals and expectations before the test starts.
The effort test consists of an incremental treadmill stress test. It measures and analyses various parameters. Heart rate and lactic acid values allow us to measure your fitness and determine your optimal training zones. The test is followed by a cool down and a refreshing shower.
For the biomechanical assessment of your gait, we use RunEasi, an innovative technology that analyses your running movements in an efficient and scientifically validated way. This technology was recently developed at the University of Leuven. Based on the analysis, we map out your strengths and opportunities, as well as any left-right asymmetry.
How do you move? And how can you prevent injuries by adjusting your running posture? Our coaches provide you with tailor-made exercises so that you can work on your improvement points at home.
The quality of your basic fitness and intensity endurance, your resistance and past training activities determine which forms of training are most suitable for you. Your strengths and weaknesses are plotted against your reference group and then translated into practice.
Golazo Energy works exclusively with qualified sports scientists with extensive experience in sports practice to guarantee a scientifically based and high-quality analysis.
After a refreshing shower, we take ample time to go through the test report and training advice. Would you also like to receive a tailor-made 12-week training schedule, adapted to your goals and available time? Then you have the option of adding this to your test for €35. You are now all set to achieve your sporting goals!
